So after traveling yesterday, I kept a cool evening at the Tacos and Tequila lounge inside my hotel, the Luxor. Walked around a bit, saw a lot of tourism ‘n shit. People spending money. I was gonna play slots but I was watching everyone else who plays, and it didn’t look like a fun experience. They are just sitting there, usually alone feeding coins in a machine. Drinking a five hour energy. Thrilling. Summary of my life, feeding coins into this machine and trying to get more money outta the bitch. Whatever. Life’s a gamble. So I guess I gamble every day. Here are some videos from yesterdays travels
Anyway, I am looking forward to learning a lot at the conference, seeing the schedule for the first time, I feel like I gonna miss out on tons of information. DSLRs, FCP, Motion, Cinema 4d, After Effects and more. Out
Right now, I am on the plane from Cincinnati to Las Vegas. We have been flying for three hours now and I am beginning to get restless in the middle sandwich seat. Blogging; above the earth in a plane. Meh, I am not completely thrilled about this trip yet. Usually when I travel, something inside of me doesn’t want to leave; leave my regular pattern of life and begin another. But once I get there all the new things and distractions seem to make it fine. Sometimes taking a trip away such as this or a long car ride is good for you, like it can clear your head. I need that.
Oh, look I decided to start blogging again. Not that anyone will read this but one day I can look back and see all the horrible things I’ve done. I’ve been very busy in the last months; putting my life back together and also shooting in Detroit, for Moe Dirdee and making slot of connections through him. Side notes: Fatkillahz videos in the works… and a Moe Dirdee exclusive. I will also be going to Las Vegas soon, and will be documenting my trip to NAB, a television and video technology conference. So stay tuned for those videos. Should be fun. Hopefully I can start making this blog more about me again and my own work… It’s more fun than just talking about the others. Anyways here is something to keep you entertained: me at work.
Curren$y is dope. Just saw this one, another one shot with a DSLR. can’t hate. Cool video of them just chillin’ out. Nothing super special in production value…check it.
Ok, this is a cool video. The color scheme in the beginning grfx is psychedelic. I guess the little kids are representing a young Moe Dirdee and Miz Korona, hustling and bullying kids on the street. The shots are good. I mean, I didn’t see anything super creative standing out to me tho. Def shot with a DSLR.. holla
Today, I thought it was appropriate that beacuse Black Milks “Album Of The Year” comes out, I wanted to draw attention to the music video for the song “Deadly Medley”. It’s an awesome video, directed by Gerard Victor Atillo. I love the beginning graphics introducing the characters. This def was shot with a DSLR. It looks great. great color, and creative shots. The only scene I don’t like is the dark scene with the blue lights…just wasn’t as interesting as the other shots… They may of had a slider for the slight dolly moves in it…and Royce with the coneys!!!!!! so g! They capture the chaotic rhythm of the beat with the cuts in the video. And the ending shot is cool too. enjoy
I know I haven’t blogged in awhile, but I have a good excuse. My head has been banging so hard to the new Slum Village album I haven’t been able to do anything else for weeks!!! As you may already know the new Slum Village album, “Villa Manifesto” came out already and it’s awesome. With the album comes new videos for the promotion of the album and such. Slum did a couple for the new album and of course they look good! They did a video for the single off the album, “Faster” and a video to “Reunion pt.2″. The Reunion video looks good, the text in it looks really good, it’s hard to put plain text in a video and make it look cool, interesting, and still look like a part of the video. They had a little shake effect added to the pounding of the beat as well. There is one location for this video, and there is also a fun lighting effect in there too. They’ve got a dude named “RioData” who seems to be holding down Baatins verse, due to Baatins passing during the recording of “Villa Manifsto”. So don’t get confused, that’s not Baatin. The Reunion songs from Slum Village hold a lot of story behind them, if you’re into Slum Village or JDilla I suggest you take a closer listen/look at them.
The “Faster” Video looks great too! Some of the opening shots could be more creative, as far as the guy walking out the door, and girl waiting on the balcony for him, but that’s tough.. Looks like they had some type of steadycam work in there, too. Overall a good video. I love the downtown Detroit cruising shots. SV dosn’t make a huge appearance in the video with no vocal dubs or nothin’ ….but that’s cool, it’s kinda like watching a drama with music playing and telling the story of the song that way. I would like to shoot a video like this, Cool concept, cool video!
